Going To Church ROCKS!

Read Psalm 122

Going to church rocks!  At least King David thought so.  In Psalm 122 he said:  "I was glad when they said to me, 'Let us go to the house of the Lord.'"  King David loved to go to the house of the Lord to worship God.  Ever wonder what people like about going to church?  Find out!

     1) Go to church, and ask at least 10 different people this question:

"What's your favorite part of going to church?"

Write their answers on a sheet of paper.

     2) Gather some friends or family, and read your top 10 list of why going to church is awesome.

     3) Now work together to make a poster that shows why your church rocks!  Ask your pastor or teacher if you can hang the poster somewhere in your church for everyone to see.

     4) After you make your poster, work together to make another poster.  On this poster, list ways your family helps make your church a great place.  For example, maybe your family sings really enthusiastically.  Or maybe you always bring the best fried chicken to church potlucks.  Then talk about these questions:

                    *  What else can we do to make our church even better?

                    *  Why do you think God wants us to make our church great?

                    *  How can we remember to bring our contributions with us when we go to church?

Hang your poster somewhere in your house where everyone will be able to see it.  Every time you leave your house to go to church, look at the poster and remember what you can bring to make your church rock!
